Epic App OrchardSouthborough, MA, August 8, 2018 — eBroselow, a global leader in medication safety solutions, announced today that it has completed the integration with Epic for its SafeDose solution to be available and supported in the Epic App Orchard.

The recently completed Epic application programing interface (API)-based integration for SafeDose makes it possible for Epic customers to evaluate and purchase a medication safety solution which is integrated to their Epic workflow.

The Epic App Orchard is a marketplace for hundreds of apps for reporting, visualization, and content that are integrated with the Epic EHR.

“This is a huge advantage for Epic customers who want to provide a higher level of medication administration safety for their patients,” said John Gobron, CEO of eBroselow. “While SafeDose delivers an immense amount of value to clinicians and patients from a safety perspective, it has historically been a standalone application. Going forward this integration allows the caregiver to use SafeDose within their EHR workflow.”

SafeDose provides a Technology Assisted Double Check™ (TADC) at every point in the medication delivery process. Physicians, pharmacists, and nurses can use it to make sure they can double check an order for the correct dose in mgs and mls, as well as detailed critical administration instructions. SafeDose can be used instantly at the point of care on either a computer or mobile device and has safeguarded both patients and clinicians millions of times.

“Our core mission is to prevent medication errors,” said Gobron. “In an emergency situation, seconds matter and there’s often no time to use cumbersome reference material or obtain manual double checks of a drug dose. As part of the Epic development community, eBroselow can now deliver dependable interoperability and seamless workflow to our Epic customers.”
